Everyone wants PR – or rather, everyone loves the idea of free publicity. After all, there is no better communications function for an organization as cost effective as public relations, even with a general uptick in the use of paid media as part of PR efforts. However, not all startup companies, organizations or individuals are making enough recurring profit to hire a PR firm.
I seriously believe it is vital for any size of company to be able to deeply connect with their community & ideal audience. I know a lot of entrepreneurs who are confused by exactly what I mean by building community and if community is even possible within your own brand.
During the Build Your Brand Conference 2018, we not only proved it was possible to create community for any brand but enforced how critical it is to speak to your ideal clientele. Think about each brand you love. YOU are the community, you are the fan base they have won over, you are investing and supporting THEM!
In order to be successful, I’ve found it’s important to not “wing” it, especially when it comes to your marketing plan – which is your direct line of communication to new and future customers.
You need to wear that CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) hat every once in a while. This involves being proactive and doing a little planning up front while moving away from randomness & inconsistency.
For so long I compared myself to everyone around me.I was under the assumption that they were living the life I dreamt about. Making way more money and getting more recognition for their work. If you're like me, every time I get caught in this head space, I feel awful. I imagined these "successful" people having way more time, money and assistance than I did.
I think we all struggle with having the courage to take that first step.
The one that pushes us past our comfort zone. The one that might makes us fail (or succeed) at something. BUT, if you were to take the one question we all ask ourselves, "what could happen if I said yes?" and change it to "what could happen is I said NO?" we will know for sure whether it's worth taking that first step.
